THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)-TITLE 32, Position Description Number PDD2486000 and is part of the KY G6, National Guard.

Duties

As a IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)-TITLE 32, GS-2210-12, you will serve as an Information Technology Specialist providing Cybersecurity for a state National Guard headquarters. Operate within the DoD and Army security procedures, operations, and practices. Ensure systems are operated and maintained IAW AR 25-2 and all applicable directives and procedures. Monitor information security bulletins and notifications as they relate to Information Security Vulnerability Alerts. Utilize extensive knowledge of all areas of automation security to establish operating standards and procedures for the installation Information Assurance Program. Serve as a subject matter expert in advising, posturing, preparing and auditing the organization for No Notice Army Cyber Readiness Assessments, Organizational Inspection Program, and accreditations. Coordinate with Program Information System Security Managers and Organizational Information System Security Officer to verify information pertinent to cybersecurity/Information Assurance procedures. Ensures all IS and COTS/GOTS within the DODIN-A (NG) Enclave are properly certified and accredited in accordance with, Risk Management Framework, and configuration management policies and practices prior to installing devices/systems on the production ICAN. Responsible for Installation Campus Area Network/Local Area Network Certification and Accreditation, documentation and meets AR 25-1, AR 25-2, DoDI 8500.01, DoDI 8510.01 and DoDI 8500.2 Information Security Implementation. Maintain operational knowledge base of threats to the security posture by attending courses, conferences, seminars, online research, and information sharing between other Cyber Security/Information Assurance professionals. Devise and implement new policies and procedures to prevent or react to security concerns. Perform other duties as assigned.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
You must maintain membership in the Kentucky National Guard.
You must be assigned to a compatible military position.

Must obtain and maintain a favorable adjudication of a T3 or equivalent investigation.

Acceptance of a Federal position will terminate Tricare Reserve Select (TRS) eligibility.
This position is located on a tobacco free facility.
This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Incumbent must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140, DOD 8570.01M or applicable governing document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IA Technician Level 2. All certifications are required within 6 month of employment.
Position is designated as OM-ADM-001 within the Defense CyberSecurity Workforce as guided by NIST SP 800-181; National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education, Cybersecurity Workforce Framework.
Must complete appropriate training and obtain required certifications IAW DoDI 8140, DOD 8570.01M or applicable governing document(s) for Cyber workforce as an IA Technician Level.
Must maintain Security+ Certification.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:
Experience that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
Must have Security+ Certification.
Must have Computer Ethical Hacker (CEH) Certification.


SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have at least 36 months experience that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.
