Qualifications
GS-11:
In addition to the Individual Occupational Requirements for this position, your resume must demonstrate one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing knowledge of applications software or systems engineering concept and techniques. Specialized experience includes some or all of the following; 1) Researching applicable regulations, standards or policies governing a wide variety of topics such as policy, system performance, and processing conditions. ; 2) Providing technical guidance in designing, coding, testing, debugging, and/or maintaining assigned systems or applications; 3) Applying knowledge of policies, standards, and regulations associated with the development process to plan and conduct studies for projects; 4) Coding and testing software changes; 5) Utilizing programming languages such as C#, HTML, JavaScript, Java Frameworks, VB.NET, .NET Framework, Visual Studio, Structured Query Language (SQL), and SQL Scripting to design applications.
GS-12:

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience for the GS-11:
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
A combination of education and experience.
Degree must be in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
