Summary

This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.

Duties

As a IT SPECIALIST (DATAMGT/ENTARCH) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Serves as the senior technical authority on metadata, data management, and application development for the agency and Directorate
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and advises on the current and predicted future of nuclear logistics systems data views of the Defense Stockpile Management enterprise architecture
  • Participates in the planning, development, implementation, and administration of systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data.
  • Develops and executes data management strategies and programs which impact NLO logistics support efforts throughout DoD and DOE
  • Serves as primary technical liaison to other nuclear logistic mission partners and associated work groups
  • Supports Business Process Reengineering efforts by translating business and user requirements into technical solutions to support database architecture and application design initiatives.
  • Develops new complex enterprise data management and application development concepts using no code and low code application development processes

  • This position requires the employee to occasionally travel away from the normal duty station. This position is required to travel CONUS or OCONUS at 20%.
  • The employee must be willing to comply with each Combatant Command (COCOM) travel medical requirement to include vaccinations.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Administering and maintaining enterprise-class database environments using Oracle management tools and utilities to support data accessibility, system interoperability, and database integrity
  • Executing end-to-end database lifecycle operations, including installation, configuration, security patching, and major version upgrades on mission-critical database systems to minimize system downtime
  • Establishing, executing, and testing database backup, recovery, and data continuity protocols to ensure high availability, zero data loss, and rapid restoration across distributed systems
  • Configuring, monitoring, and validating high-availability and disaster recovery architectures (such as database clustering, replication, and failover mechanisms) to sustain 24/7/365 continuous operational readiness
  • Developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex database scripts, stored procedures, triggers, and queries utilizing Structured Query Language (SQL) and Procedural Language/Structured Query Language (PL/SQL) to enhance system performance and translate business requirements into functional database services.

  • Specialized Experience for GS-7 (or equivalent) and Above: Positions at GS-7 (or equivalent) and above require one year of specialized experience at the next lower GS-grade (or equivalent). Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT. The employing agency is responsible for defining the specialized experience based on the requirements of the position being filled.

Defense Cyber Workforce position.
