Summary

You will serve as a IT Specialist (INFOSEC) in the Information Technology Department of COMMANDER NAVY REGION EUROPE .

Duties

  • You will manage Cyber security programs that meet current and future business requirements to ensure confidentiality and availability of information systems.
  • You will develop Cyber Security plans, policy guidance, regulations and procedures (SOPs) to ensure cyber security regulatory requirements are followed.
  • You will ensure the rigorous application of cyber security policies and practices in the delivery of IT services.
  • You will evaluate and assess IT systems to determine security configuration deficiencies operational risks.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role codes 722 and 752, proficiency level III. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: 1) Evaluating computer systems, software, hardware, and network architecture to identify potential security risks; 2) Analyzing risk or vulnerability assessments to verify an organization's information assurance vulnerability management (IAVM) program is meeting performance standards; 3) Evaluating security events to determine the impact on an organization's cyber security program; and 4) Overseeing the implementation of strategic plans to verify organizational procedures and guidelines align with cyber security requirements.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
