Summary
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK), Position Description Number D1585P01 and is part of the CO JFHQ G6, National Guard.
The purpose of the position is to serve as the principle manager responsible for digital communications services planning, resource, policy and standards development for the entire enterprise infrastructure.
Duties
Responsible for providing expert technical advice and guidance on critical digital communications issues to ensure the integration of C4 programs and services and to solve integration and interoperability issues. Understands and provides input to the development and implementation of bandwidth configuration plans for complex Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs) with supported elements to include; headquarters staff elements, tenant activities, state government, regional operating activities, and national agencies. Develops the communications architecture and maintains the enterprise infrastructure. Has overall responsibility for planning and developing current and future digital, analog, asynchronous transmission mode (ATM) communications infrastructure. Has overall responsibility for determining funding requirements, preparing budget requests, and executing the communications budget to achieve near term and strategic goals. Provides policy guidance in coordination with the operational elements of the NCC Manager regarding digital communications issues to the DCSIM for statewide implementation. Writes policy and plans for the installation Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP). Coordinates the work and guides lower-graded communications personnel to in maintaining the enterprise sustaining base digital, analog and ATM communications infrastructure. Works closely with IT service providers to optimize support and integration of new technologies. May be assigned to assist the chief by performing limited leader responsibilities. Performs other duties as assigned.

- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.
- Membership in the Colorado Army National Guard.
- Must hold the grade of E-5 thru E-9, W-1 thru W-3, or O-1 thru O-3.

- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-5 thru E-9, W-1 thru W-3, or O-1 thru O-3
1. Specialized experience will be used to determine qualifications for the announced position.

Must have at least 12 months of Specialized Experience in each of the following:
1. Experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade.
2. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls.
3. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment.
4. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion.
Education
Education cannot be substituted for Specialized Experience for this position.
