About the Position: This position involves duties related to the application, integration, design, modification, upgrading, installation and maintenance of network equipment, data communications and circuits in support of Tooele Army Depot.

Duties

  • Configure, install, maintain, troubleshoot and monitor a wide variety of network hardware systems and peripheral devices.
  • Implement and integrate Transport Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) communications throughout the TEAD network.
  • Perform all technical networking tasks necessary to respond to tenant activities and higher headquarters, video networking and IA demands.
  • Perform wireless networking and configuration as necessary/required.
  • Create and manage documentation for systems as required per STIG and IA requirements.
  • Review, evaluate and determine the most appropriate telecommunications connectivity according to DoD/DA guidelines.
  • Conduct technical studies preliminary to system and service changes or proposed changes in CUI and Classified networking hardware and communication protocol configurations.
  • Ensure solutions to system failures include standard procedures and parameter changes to avoid exact elements that originally caused failure.
  • Conduct analysis of customer needs, set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Selectee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Required to satisfactorily complete the appropriate training to obtain and maintain the required certification/recertification for this position as outlined in DoD Publication 8570.01-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program.
  • Requires IA Technical Level II certifications be attained within 6 months of assignment to the position and maintained thereafter. Incumbent may be required to pay annual recertification fees.

BASIC REQUIREMENT: In addition to the specialized experience listed below, your resume must indicate IT-related experience demonstrating the four competencies: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as installing and maintaining network software, hardware and equipment; using network monitoring tools to monitor network operation, and performing troubleshooting to resolve technical problems affecting network performance. Possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree from a nationally accredited university that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.   • This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce (Cyber Workforce) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
