This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GG-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for Individual Occupational Requirements for Information Technology (IT) Management Series, 2210 (Alternative A)
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.
- Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
- Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
- Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
- Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
NOTE: IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS ABOVE APPLICANT MUST ALSO MEET THE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS LISTED BELOW.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of IT system server and integration methods, performance tuning methods, test and evaluation methods and procedures, IT security principles and project management principles. Knowledge of hardware and software protocols as well as technologies and tools related to electronic attack and defense of such systems. Knowledge of a full range of IT methods, regulations, policies, products and services sufficient to develop specifications to ensure compliance with security requirements at the LAN level and to plan and coordinate the delivery of an IT security awareness training program for end users at all levels within the organization.
Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1 Knowledge of a full range of network systems (LAN/WAN) design pnnc1ples, methodologies, and approaches used m developing, testing, installing, operating, managing, and maintaining network services that support functional requirements.
2 Knowledge of IO and the interplay of geographical, political, military, economic, and industrial forces in various regions of the world, focusing on intelligence and NW Ops threat entities, operations, and capabilities that may be directed against USAF, DoD, and other US resources
3 Knowledge of NW Ops and US intelligence community policies, entitles, missions, resources, operations, capabilities, databases, and requirements to perform intelligence research, planning, operations collection, target analysis, and other intelligence collection related activities
4 Ability to quickly assimilate disparate data and render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implications of such data, and to apply facts and estimates derived from numerous sources to a variety of problems having different technical aspects
5 Knowledge of complex configuration management technical requirements appropriate to managing base level network systems
6 Ability to gather facts and use effective analytical and evaluative methods to assess information, plan the sequence of actions necessary, make sound decisions, and solve a variety of network problems, and to analyze component interrelationships and evaluate network systems and computer applications from an operational perspective. Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
