This is a GG-13 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-13 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-13 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of a broad range of computer telecommunication concepts and principles, operating modes, related software systems, processes, and procedures to assess and advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g., espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/ applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications. Knowledge of safety and security, and regulations, practices, and procedures; and security procedures to maintain control of classified material. Knowledge of strategic planning, architectural analysis, programming, requirements analysis and review to develop organizational planning, operational concepts, and roadmaps for implementation. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of cybersecurity systems development/analysis, including designing and integrating comprehensive system security measures, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance on system implementation.
2. Ability to design, implement, and integrate hardware, software, and cybersecurity measures while ensuring adherence to requirements and driving system performance and security. Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders, including business owners, IT teams, and
cybersecurity professionals.
3. Skill in developing and maintaining business, systems, and information processes to ensure consistency with cybersecurity guidelines, prioritize critical business functions, and maintain databases for optimal performance and data integrity.
4. Advanced proficiency in hands-on Linux systems engineering tasks, including designing, implementing, and administering Linux-based systems, deploying and managing Enterprise Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS), configuring and securing virtualization frameworks, and employing system monitoring tools.
5. Proficiency in hands-on database management tasks, including designing, implementing, and administering database systems, deploying and managing database distributions (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.) and key-value stores (e.g., Redis, etc.), configuring and securing database environments, and utilizing database monitoring and performance tuning tools.
6. Advanced expertise in information security laws, regulations, and frameworks, vulnerability assessments, security log analysis, policy development, security technology evaluation, and effective communication with cross-functional teams. Advanced skills in designing, implementing, and managing complex infrastructure systems, proficiency in infrastructure automation and configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible), experience in deploying and maintaining infrastructure platforms (e.g. Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes), expertise in network architecture and security protocols, knowledge of virtualization/containerization technologies (e.g. libvirt, CRI-O), and the ability to operate within cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and scalable infrastructure solutions.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
