Duties
As an IT SPECIALIST (SYSTEM ANALYSIS), GS-2210-11, you will plan work to be accomplished, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work of the full range of cyberspace systems. Analyze complex processes and/or a variety of unusual problems, questions or conditions relative to the design and/or selection of management information systems and applications software technology. Develop feasibility studies and participate in special projects to maintain required programs and support the needs of the user. Perform as a technical advisor to leaders or managers of IT systems. Represent the organization at meetings and conferences, present briefings and establish/maintain effective work relationships at various command levels. Perform other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.

- This position requires the employee to travel away from the normal duty station frequently on military and commercial aircraft.
- Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
- The employee may be recalled to duty.
- This position may require employee to occasionally work under adverse environmental conditions.
- The employee must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- Conduct information assurance functions. Shall comply with the requirements of the certification program and be required to obtain and maintain certifications as outlined in DoDI 8570.01-M
- Required to obtain and maintain acquisition credentials, e.g., the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act IT Level 1 Certification.
- Applicant must complete a Baseline Pre-Placement Screening for General Schedule positions within 30 days of appointment.
- Acceptance of a Federal position may terminate Tricare Reserve Select eligibility.
- For positions requiring a security clearance (Secret or Top Secret) the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment.
Qualifications
Military Grades: E-5 through O-4
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled you to understand the stages required to automate a work process; experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade or 36 months of experience or training that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization; experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls; experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment.
