Army DCIPS positions apply Veteran's Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 U.S.C., in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement.
In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience to the next lower grade (GS/GG-11) which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience applying a comprehensive understanding of software development principles, practices, and technologies, including agile methodologies, relational database management systems, and DevSecOps principles, to design, develop, and implement data management solutions. This experience must demonstrate proficiency in programming languages, such as JavaScript, and experience with collaborative development tools, version control systems, and cloud-based technologies, including data storage and analytics solutions, to accomplish complex data management tasks.
In addition to the specialized experience listed above, your resume must show you have Information Technology-related experience. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT and should include information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined:
