This position is at the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) in the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). This position will serve as an Endpoint Admin/Engineer, responsible for optimizing our Microsoft Intune environment, ensuring seamless deployment using Autopilot and management of mobile devices, applications, and security policies.

Duties

As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:

  • Develop secure architecture/design, plan activities, system testing/implementation and provide ongoing technical support for Microsoft technologies such as Office 365, Hybrid-Office 365 implementations, Microsoft Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS), and other various Microsoft-focused end-point/platform technologies
  • Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures
  • Enable the automation of the application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of enterprise services
  • Design, deliver, test, and engineer the system configurations against security standards associated with implementing Endpoint Management using Mobile Device Management (MDM), Windows 10/11, Apple iPhone/iPad, PowerShell, Virtual Desktops, and etc.
  • Deploy secure MDM-managed devices (for example laptops, desktops, mobile phones, and/or tablets)
  • Implement secure baseline policies using Critical Security Controls (CIS) benchmarks and/or DISA Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIGs)

Qualifications

Applicants must possess IT related experience demonstrating EACH of the four IT Specialist competencies AND one year of specialized experience as described below:

  3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.

Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

1. Deploying and testing the system configurations against security standards associated with implementing:
  • Endpoint Management using Mobile Device Management (MDM) such as Intune, MAAS 360, or Mobile Iron
  • Windows 10, Windows 11, Apple iPhone and/or Apple iPad
  • PowerShell and/or Microsoft Graph
  • Virtual Desktops such as VMware horizon/workstation, Citrix, Azure Virtual Desktop
2. Deploying secure MDM-managed devices (e.g. laptops, desktops, mobile phones, and/or tablets); and
3. Testing secure baseline policies using Center for Internet Security (CIS) benchmarks and/or Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

SALARY: Pay will be set within the advertised pay range to align with the selectee's skills and experience and the requirements of the position.

Pay will be set using NCUA's Compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's Local Pay Rate (LPR) which includes a locality rate of 50.87% for the Alexandria, Virginia geographical area.
