The United States Space Force (USSF) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base is searching for an IT Specialist, NSIC (GG-2210-13).

Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for candidates with proven experience, preferably 5+ years focused on DoD or Intelligence IT support working with classified networks. The ideal applicant should have a degree in computer science or information technology. A strong background should show a proficiency in enterprise environments, including data centers, network infrastructure, and cloud integration. You will need a solid foundation in cybersecurity best practices; CompTIA Security+ certification required. Working directly within the squadron, you will be a vital resource for tackling IT issues, administering servers and networks, and spearheading technology projects that directly support the mission.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of IT systems analysis and internet concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate new and emerging IT security methods and principles, the feasibility of proposed new systems in addition, applications software projects; and to design, test and maintain information systems and applications software and ensure successful integration with existing and anticipated infrastructure.
2. Knowledge of the network architecture, interrelationships, operating modes, configuration, topology, and protocols.
3. Must have knowledge ofa programming language: Software skills in: JavaScript, Java w/Spring, Angular, Python, CIC++, PHP; and desired database skills in: ORACLE, MongoDB, GraphQL, Maria, Neo4j, PostgreSQL. Plus, and some experience in data science/analytic tools helpful.
4. Must have a broad knowledge of information technology used in industry and government to include standards, directives, and industry best practices.
5. Extensive knowledge of web application software frameworks and languages and the ability to apply hands-on development for critical portions of single or multi-developer projects. Required experience with software development, life-cycle management, web systems analysis, software design strategies, and systems architecture.
6. Extensive knowledge of web application production environments including deployment techniques and configuration management systems.
7. Skill and experience applying analytical and evaluative techniques to identify/investigate/resolve issues/problems associate with contract support as well as modifying standard practices and techniques; and skill and ability to identify problems; determines accuracy and relevancy of information; uses sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations.
8. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing; in coordinating with stakeholders; in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work; writing clear and concise intelligence products; and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior level audiences for decision-making purposes.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
- Safeguards classified or sensitive budget-related information and/or files.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed “Unscheduled Telework”.
- This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
- Employee may be required to perform travel by military or commercial passenger aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
- PCS funding is authorized.
- This is a drug testing designated position (TDP). The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use, IAW AFI 90-508.
- A college degree or relevant experience with information technology is desired.
- This position may include information assurance (IA) work as an additional duty.
- Cybersecurity Certification is a condition of employment.
Qualifications
The 2210 series has an individual occupational requirement that must be met and can be viewed here. There is no Group Coverage Qualification Standard for this series.
