To qualify at the SV-K (GS-15) grade level: Applicants must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-J (GS-14) in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all the following:
- Serves as a Lead for IT services and support throughout the agency's worldwide locations, providing leadership and support to a staff compromised of Program and IT Specialists. Lead duties include supporting strategic planning, communicating the agency's vision, mission, and objectives; setting priorities; assigning tasks and responsibilities; and resolving complex problems or issues.
- Provides expert guidance and supervision in the development of strategies that coordinate and monitor all stages of the system development lifecycle as it pertains to the development, deployment, and buildout of agency's infrastructure. This includes stakeholder management, development at the local site level, network design development and approval, engineering coordination, and end user computing deployment and implementation.
- Manages and leads multiple, complex, and geographically dispersed IT projects for the agency including setting priorities based on mission need; deployment of new technologies; contract development and administration; defining milestones and deliverables; managing IT project costs; and defining, assessing, prioritizing, monitoring, and addressing risks.
- Directs staff on COR responsibilities; provides technical direction, assesses effectiveness of contractor performance measures; reviews, approves, and accepts deliverables; evaluates overall contractor performance and assists Contracting Officer in contract administration.
Credit for experience is given based on a 40-hour workweek. Part-time experience is credited on a part-time ratio, i.e., working 20 hours per week for two months equals one month of experience. No additional credit is given for overtime.
National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
