GS-07: To be qualified applicants must meet ONE of the following:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: experience that has equipped you with the competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Qualifying experience must demonstrate possession of each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Examples of specialized experience include performing the following types of duties: assisting in performing a variety of tasks associated with the day-to-day operations and administration of IT systems; applying basic IT principles and practices to provide software/hardware maintenance support; providing user assistance on basic computer applications; and assisting with network monitoring and management.

EDUCATION: One full year of graduate level education in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management; or, graduate education that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Superior Academic Achievement: Successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management, and my education has equipped me with the competencies/knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position.

COMBINATION: A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above which when combined equal 100% of the requirements.

EDUCATION: A Master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B.); OR 2 full years of progressively higher graduate education leading to such a degree. This education must have been in one of the following fields or must have provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the following fields and must have required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Technology Management.

COMBINATION: A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of 1 full year is creditable.)
GS-11: To be qualified applicants must meet ONE of the following:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level in Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: experience that has equipped you with the competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Qualifying experience must demonstrate possession of each of the following competencies: Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Oral Communication, and Problem Solving. Specialized experience is defined as providing day-to-day IT customer support to an organization implementing policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability, security and accessibility; managing network systems; resolving recurring software/hardware problems; planning, and implementing network systems used for the transmission of information; maintaining and monitoring telecommunication systems; and distributing and installing new and upgraded software.
OR
EDUCATION: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management
OR degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

COMBINATION: A combination of specialized experience and graduate education as described above which when combined equal 100% of the requirements. (Only graduate education in excess of 2 full years is creditable.)
Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
