To be eligible at the GS-11 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions, as defined below: Specialized Experience, Education, OR a combination of Education and Experience.
Specialized Experience:
Experience performing a variety of IT tasks such as, installing, configuring and maintaining IT equipment, performing testing, configuration, installation, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems utilizing data, voice and/or video format; installing hardware and software; resolving hardware/software interface and inoperability problems. Preferred experience includes: using automated litigation support technology such as Adobe Acrobat IX Pro or higher, Full Microsoft 365 Suite, Google Earth Pro, On Cue, Everlaw or related programs; pre-trial and trial preparation and presentations; organizing voluminous case information for efficient retrieval through automated means such as scanning, indexing, and coding documents into a database; determining placement and appearance of visual materials that will most effectively present the information in the courtroom. This experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-9 level in the Federal service and could have been gained in the federal, public, or private sector.
Education:
One of the following types of education: a PH.D or equivalent doctoral degree; OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. This education must have been in one of the following fields OR must have provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the following fields and must have required the development or adaptation of applications, systems, or networks: Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, Information Systems Management, Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Technology Management. All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Combining Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. In order to qualify based on a combination, graduate education must be in excess of 2 full years.
To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience performing a variety of IT tasks such as, providing IT customer support services, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of hardware/software and networked systems, and maintenance of internet servers and websites; experience providing user training on routine applications, conducting information security analysis and compliance, and management of web design and legal compliance; experience providing oversight of network architecture and infrastructure and installation and maintenance of database systems; and experience involves providing Information Technology concepts, methods, standards, and practices as they relate to automated Litigation Support functions, i.e., trial preparation and presentation; developing and managing Litigation Support systems that meet current and future needs; and providing input into litigation support planning and policy activities.
