Summary

This term position. This position is located at Departmental Offices,Domestic Finance - Community Development Financial Institutions Fund. As a Information Technology Specialist (APPSW), you will be responsible for the development and evolution of information software methodology, techniques, and procedures to substantially improve the organization's information systems development process.

Duties

This is a remote position. The salary range listed depicts the range covering the lowest locality level, up to the highest locality level. Salary will be determined upon selection and dependent upon duty location, grade, step, and locality pay of selectee(s). Additional salary information can be found on Salaries & Wages (opm.gov).

As a/an Information Technology Specialist (APPSW), you will:

  • Plan, organize, and direct the operations of the IT Team in conjunction with the Chief Information Officer.
  • Serve as the senior IT Specialist leading the activities of personnel engaged in managing, analyzing, developing, and maintaining internet/intranet software, networking, and customer service programs for the data automation, application development, LAN/WAN communication systems, information security, and other information mission areas for CDFI.
  • Senior IT Specialist advisor providing technical input and guidance on planning, programming, and technical methodologies for the implementation of CDFI systems
  • Responsible for technical evaluation and oversight of contracted projects including analyzing and refining assessment and Risk Management tools to evaluate the financial health of applicant and recipient institutions.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes the following:

- Developing customized applications architecture such as designing plans, schedules, resource needs, and quality standards for enterprise business systems; AND
- Demonstrating business processes and system requirements to external and internal audiences orally and in writing.

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/day/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week on your resumé.

In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed
below.

  4. Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
