You may qualify at the
GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the
GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
- Independently performing Information Assurance (IA) activities that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of DoD systems and networks.
- Conducting security reviews of application designs, software development practices, source code, and system deployments.
- Ensuring compliance of systems, tools, and applications with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements, National Institute of Standers and Technology (NIST) security controls, and DoD cybersecurity policies.
- Utilizing cybersecurity tools to perform vulnerability scanning, system monitoring, and incident detection and supporting remediation efforts.
- Supporting the preparation and maintenance of RMF authorization packages, including System Security Plans and Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&Ms).
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
In addition to meeting qualifications, your application package must reflect the applicable experience to meet the Individual Occupational Requirements for the 2210 series.
This position has an individual occupational requirement (IOR) which must be met in order to qualify for this position. You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following four competencies listed below:

4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
