This is a full-time term appointment in the excepted service not to exceed two years. Term appointments may be extended beyond the initial term. As a term employee you will be eligible for medical insurance, life insurance, retirement, dental and vision. You will be eligible to earn annual leave and sick leave.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must (a) hold a bachelor's degree or higher that included or was supplemented by major study in education or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, OR (b) possess a combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, or in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, plus appropriate experience or additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described above.
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR/KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Applicants will be evaluated on the following:
1) Academic accomplishment (Ph.D. is preferred) in 20th century American, European, or Russian History with a focus on antisemitism or a closely related field.
2) Ability to teach American, European, or Russian History survey, and an interest in or ability to teach the History of the United States Army.
3) Demonstrated experience with commitment to student centered and active learning instruction.
4) Scholarly success, to include demonstrated research, writing, and communication ability.
5) Ability to contribute to Resnick Center initiatives and assist with administration of the center.
