SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR (SCREEN-OUT) - A Selective Placement Factor (SPF) has been identified for this position. In addition to the English Language Proficiency and Selective Placement Factor above, to qualify for this position at the GS-07 grade level, you must meet one of the following:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In addition to meeting the above requirements, applicants must possess one (1) year of specialized experience that equipped them with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. To be creditable, this experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level in the Federal Service. Positions in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled. Specialized experience includes: evaluating patients for emergency medical conditions; performing a wide range of treatment procedures; performing airway management using advanced airway techniques; operating specialized medical equipment (i.e., defibrillators, electrocardiographs, and oxygen apparatus); performing wound management; and documenting all actions, assessments, diagnostics, and procedures in the medical record.

Transcript Required): Successful completion of one (1) full year of graduate education directly related to the work of the position meets the requirements for GS-7. This education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

Physical Requirements: The work involves extended periods of heavy moving and lifting of patients. Generally, the work requires recurring bending, lifting, stooping, stretching, and positioning of patients.
