Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) LABORER ~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Laborer duties to include clearing trees and vegetation using handsaws, shovels, picks or clippers; ability to trim grass and ivy with a power edger. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observe tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
- Physical Efforts- Work requires considerable standing, walking, bending, stooping and other awkward and uncomfortable positions. Frequently lifts, moves and carries items up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifts and carries heavier items. Frequently pushes heavy equipment and other material.
- Working Conditions - Works outside, exposed to hot and cold temperatures, bad weather, dirt, drafts, noise, grease and fumes. Subject to minor injuries such as cuts, scrapes, bruises, strains, insect bites and stings and occasionally more serious injuries such as broken bones and severe cuts from flying debris or collisions. As required, uses safety equipment and clothing such as ear protectors, safety glasses and shoes.
