Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Confirm identification and authorization of persons and vehicles accessing the grounds to prevent unauthorized entry; 2) Confirm facilities, locks, alarms, fences, gates, or other barriers are closed/locked or open/unlocked depending on the time of day and the conditions that apply; 3) Monitor personnel movements to and from a controlled access area to protect lives and organizational assets; and 4) Detain violators of laws, and regulations to turn them over to Federal or civil police or other law enforcement officers for arrest or posting of collateral.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
You must successfully attend and graduate from the established Navy Security Guard Training Course consisting of various subjects pertaining to vehicle entry / access control, building security checks, CCTV monitoring, and other security guard related duties. You must successfully pass the basic training academy and required annual sustainment training, including: Non-Lethal Weapon training, first aid / CPR, and approved physical agility/readiness testing. (in accordance with the CNICINST 5530.14 series).
You will perform periodic proficiency examinations in the use of non-lethal weapons.
You will be required to render honors (salute) while manning ECPs.
You will be able to discern colors, contrast and depth in accordance with OPM standards.
Physical Demands: Work requires considerable and/or strenuous physical exertion such as lifting/dragging heavy objects over 50 lbs., prolonged standing, crouching or crawling in restrictive areas during inspection activities, defending oneself and others during a physical attack. Work requires to successfully complete a periodic Physical Abilities Test (PAT) and must routinely participate in defensive tactics, handcuffing and non-lethal weapons qualification requiring physical stamina and agility (in accordance with CNICINST 5530.14 series).
Work Environment: Work is performed outdoors in the heat, cold, rain and wind during the hours of daylight and darkness with work in or under extremely dangerous conditions. The work environment regularly involves high risk with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress which requires a range of safety and other precautions. The incumbent/supervisor may also work in areas where certain potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present. These agents may include, but are not limited to fumes, noise, and heat.
Employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., protective vest [bullet resistant], ballistic helmet etc.) or other Personnel Protection Equipment (PPE) as necessary for the protection of the employee in the performance of your duties.
