Summary

You will serve as a Logistics Management Specialist in the Logistics Branch, HM&E Fleet and Industrial Support Division, Engineering and Planning Department of NAVAL SHIP REPAIR FACILITY .

Duties

  • You will serve as the technical expert for shipboard equipment configuration to all Forward Deployed Naval Forces (FDNF) and transient fleet units in the 7th fleet AOR.
  • You will be responsible for providing complete configuration and logistics support to FDNF Fleet units undergoing Integrated Logistics Overhaul (ILO), Phased Maintenance Review (PMR).
  • You will serve as a member of the Logistic Support Team for Total Ship Readiness Assessment events.
  • You will conduct research, analyze, review, and create various data reports in support of your assigned tasks and for use in evaluating, documenting, and reporting various ILS support effectiveness.
  • You will review, develop, and document recommendations directed at improved supply and logistics support.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations.

Qualifications

GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

1.) Extensive knowledge on shipboard equipment and ILS-related programs.
2.) Expert-level understanding of shipboard equipment configuration analysis procedures.
3.) Advanced knowledge in automated shore interface (ASI) processing and all facets of shipboard maintenance and material management (3m) systems.
4.) Proven experience in material management, inventory control, or supply chain operations.
5.) Effective communicator - oral and in writing.

Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
