Summary


About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Fam Camp, Air Force Academy, Colorado.

  • This position does not include benefits.
  • Moderately heavy physical effort is required in occasionally lifting and carrying heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and in pushing heavy furniture, loading carts, etc. Frequently lifts and carries objects weighing up to 40 pounds.

Duties

  • Keep the campground clean by raking pine cones, pine needles, pick up and dispose of trash, aluminum cans, dead branches, etc.
  • Clean picnic grills, picnic tables, and anything else in the campsites and campgrounds that is in need of cleaning.
  • Helps incoming motorhomes in locating their sites and seeing that they are situated.
  • Assist customers when they have minor problems such as loosing stuff in dumpsters, or jumpstarting their vehicles, or need assistance with cleaning up something in their campsites.
  • Runs hand lawnmowers or riding powered lawnmowers.
  • Clears small trees and bushes, using handsaw, hatchet, or clipper.
  • Uses powered and handheld weedwhackers to keep areas free from overgrown weeds.
  • Care must be taken when working around customers motorhomes.
  • Utilizes skid loader to complete larger tasks that cannot be completed by hand.
  • Using a shovel, rake, etc. fills in potholes, washed out areas, areas that need some re-arranging, and helps level campsites as needed.
  • Moves and arranges furniture as directed; shovels snow from sidewalks; washes and waxes golf carts and trucks by hand or power buffer.
  • Loads and unloads heavy boxes, bulky supplies, and materials to and from trucks, dollies, golf carts, etc, moves heavy boxes, cartons, or trash by hand, or dolly; opens boxes of supplies etc. and stacks/stores boxes and cartons where directed.
  • Assists customers by dispensing propane to refill bottles and motorhome on-board tanks.
  • Maintains restrooms and laundry facilities in clean, orderly, and sanitary condition.
  • Cleans, disinfect, and deodorizes, lavatories, urinals, showers, and toilet bowls.
  • Cleans mirrors and sinks.
  • Dusts ledges and woodwork.
  • Replaces deodorizers, toilet tissue, hand towels, and soap.
  • Notes condition of facilities to supervisor broken windows, water leaks, clogged drains, and other conditions requiring maintenance.
  • Performs seasonal tasks as required, such as, applying ice control material to entrances of buildings, shoveling snow, picking up litter around buildings, and mowing grass.
  • Keeps a stock of cleaning materials and equipment needed to do daily work tasks.
  • Tells supervisor when more materials are needed or when equipment needs repair or replacement.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
  • No previous experience or training is required.
  • Must be able to use, control, and clean common handtools, and simple power equipment.
  • Must be able to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps.
  • Must have the ability to drive variety of motor vehicles to include vans, pickup trucks, golf carts, etc.
  • Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner in different weather.
  • Must have the ability to maneuver vehicles over uneven terrain, over improved and unimproved roads, and through congested areas.
  • Must be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
  • Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry medium to heavy objects up to 40 pounds, and be able to occasionally lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Education
