There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Laborer~ without more than normal supervision. Perform routine operator maintenance of hand tools and equipment. Have safely used industrial cleaners (typically used in households) and basic hand and yard tools and equipment, such as a rake, pitchfork, wheelbarrow, hand-pump sprayer, hand truck, shovel, push lawn mower (manual), hammer, screwdriver, wrench, and pliers. have performed routine work assignments with little or no assistance (e.g., picking up all paper and trash around the work site three times a week). Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Works from ladders, scaffolds, and platforms when making repairs to equipment or machinery. On occasion work may be performed on a boat. Operates lawnmowers, both riding and hand operated which requires standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Frequently handles, lifts, carries, and sets up parts, equipment and materials that weigh up to 50 pounds. Occasionally may lift and carry items that weigh in excess of 50 pounds.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The work is done outside and inside. When working outside, is subject to discomfort from long periods in the hot sun, humid environment, and sometimes in chilly and rainy weather. Is subject to working conditions of the various trades in which working. There is a chance of minor injuries such as bruises, cuts, and scrapes, and possibility of broken bones from falls. Is exposed to dirt, dust, mud, grease, fumes, and burns. May wear protective clothing such as hardhat, gloves, safety shoes, hearing protection and protective glasses. May be required to perform wildfire suppression duties.
