Duties
- Mows grass, lays sod, weeds flowerbeds, trims and edges walkways and lawns. Prunes shrubs and trees; applies fertilizer, waters plants, cleans out drainage ditches, shovels snow from walks and driveways.
- Loads and unloads conveyances; moves materials using wheelbarrows, hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges supplies for storage; collects refuse and recyclable materials.
- Digs, fills and tamps soil and gravel in earth excavations; levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake.
- Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Physical Effort: Must be able to lift or move objects up to 40 pounds unassisted, and occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds with the assistance of other workers or lifting devices.
- Working Conditions: Works indoors and outdoors. May be exposed to adverse weather conditions when working outdoors. Exposed to drafts, noise, dust, and dirt. Possibility of bruises, muscle strains, cuts and scrapes.
- Must also be able to actively bend, stoop, stand, reach, and work in awkward positions.
- An employer referred pre-employment physical examination is required.
- Work schedule may be irregular. The incumbent may be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays and/or special events, varying or rotating shifts.
- Tier 1 background investigation.
- Satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks in accordance with AR215-3, chapter 2, is required.
Qualifications
Qualification Requirements:
- Three (3) month of laboring experience required.
- Must have the ability use, control and clean tools and power equipment used, and ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct tasks or steps without constant supervisor of each task assigned.
HIGHLY PREFERRED
Are those candidates that possess both the minimum qualifications above and all of the following:
- Possess good interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
- Experience that provides the knowledge and skills of the Golf Club maintenance operations.
- Work experience that provides general familiarity with the daily workings and routines of the golf courses maintenance department and the knowledge, workings of golf course turf equipment.
