Duties

  • Operate large, complex riding lawn mower and/or specially designed riding mowers to mow in areas requiring attention to space and environment.
  • Perform tasks that require significant manual skill, very heavy physical effort, several steps, phases, and detailed procedures (e.g. preparing ground for sod, flowers, and shrubs), following drawings and specifications.
  • Responsible for selecting appropriate equipment to accomplish work, following safety practices, obtaining assistance, and performing routine maintenance and adjustments on equipment.
  • Works under supervision of leader who provides instructions, standard procedures, and policies, and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • A pre-employment occupational physical is required for this position.
  • This position requires to frequently lift and carry moderate to heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2.
  • Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally-controlled facilities.
  • Must be willing and able to work a variable shift to include Days, Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays as needed.
  • Appointment subject to favorable suitability determination.

  • Demonstrated work experience that includes the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the duties of this position.
  • Ability to interpret instructions, specifications, etc.
  • Ability to use and maintain tools and equipment.

FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
