Duties

  • Responsible for providing operational support to activities who provides support to customers in various scheduled events and functions.
  • Responsible for conference room configuration, beginning with organizing tables, chairs, audio/video equipment from storage to actual setup of this furniture/equipment in accordance with established banquet/special event orders.
  • Loads and unloads equipment and furniture, moves materials using hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges for storage.
  • Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment as required for the applicable conference/meeting set up.
  • Performs duties alone or as a member of a work crew.

  • Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays and/or unique events.
  • Requires frequent lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 40 pounds and occasionally 50 pounds.
  • Required to stand, walk, bend and kneel for lengthy periods of time.
  • Work is generally performed in a building that is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

Qualifications

All candidates MUST meet the following minimum qualifications:
  • at least three (3) months experience performing laborer duties, AND
  • knowledge of operating simple power equipment and hand tools such as steam cleaners and vacuums, AND
  • knowledge of performing routine maintenance procedures for equipment (e.g. visual check of the equipment, limited lubrication, cleaning/replacing air filters, refueling, etc.), AND
  • ability to understand and follow oral instructions, AND
  • ability to read and write in order to prepare required forms, AND
  • ability to follow written guidelines and/or instructions. AND
  • ability to perform simple manual duties (ex: moving equipment, objects weighing 40 lbs. etc.).

PCS Costs
  • Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.
FWS Allowances and Differentials
  • This is a federal wage schedule (FWS) position.
  • All FWS employees are entitled to overtime work for work in excess of 8 hours in a day or in excess of 40 hours in the administrative workweek, whichever provides the greater benefit to the employee.
  • Regular full-time, regular part-time (to include those in a limited tenure appointment category) and regularly scheduled flexible employees are entitled to Sunday premium pay when working Sunday shifts.
  • A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 7.5% for the entire shift when a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 1500 and 2400. A FWS employee will be paid a night shift differential of 10% of the scheduled rate if a majority of the employee's regularly scheduled non-overtime hours of work occur between the hours of 2300-0800.
Incentives and Bonuses
  • Incentives will not be paid.
Non-Foreign Overseas Allowances
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will NOT be paid.
