Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.
Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Laundry Worker ~ without more than normal supervision. I can collect, receive, and store linen and apparel, assemble and issue clean linen. I can set marking machine by pressing keys and follow established sequences to set procedure accordingly of Laundry Work. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

- Physical Effort: Performs work on hard surfaces and in work areas that requires the worker to stand, stoop, bend and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions. Worker may be required to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time. Worker must frequently lift and carry bundles, materials and equipment that weigh up to 50 pounds. Worker may occasionally handle items that weigh over 60 pounds.
- Working Conditions: Work is performed inside building and on receiving and shipping dock in all kinds of weather. The area may be cold, drafty, humid, damp or hot.
Work is performed in close quarters in building or bin aisles, ramps or platforms. Is exposed to possibility of bruises from handling materials on materials handling equipment. Worker is exposed repeatedly to contaminate linen materials. Must wear protective masks, gloves, and gowns when handling laundry from patients with contagious diseases. Worker must be tactful and take precautions to preclude interfering with patient care when making deliveries.
