Summary

Serves as a Laundry Worker in the Laundry Department of the Hale Koa Hotel.

Local candidates will be reviewed first as PCS is not authorized. If determined that area of consideration is to be expanded, all candidates will be considered.

Duties

Performs work involving a sequence of several tasks requiring some skill and judgment with close attention to accuracy following set procedures. Assist in preparation of stock solutions of soap, bleach and starches. Maintains record of numbers of laundered items processed in a specific period. Sort's bulk laundry by type of linen, e.g. bed linen, table linen, towels, etc. Separates torn or stained items and reports to supervisor. Maintains laundry area in clean condition and assists in cleaning machines periodically.

Performs other duties assigned.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position

  • One year probationary period may be required
  • A physical examination may be required
  • Must be able to obtain a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays and various hours of the day and week when required.

Qualifications

Must have ability to follow oral and written instructions and to work well with others in a team effort. Hand-eye coordination is required to perform repetitive tasks. Must stand or walk continuously on concrete floors. Do not need to keep pace with machines but must have a certain amount of quickness in hand and arm movements. Continually handles pieces of laundry weighing up to 20 pounds.
