Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Law Enforcement Specialist (Facility Security Assessment Program Manager) Providing protection of life, property and the rights of individual citizens. This includes enforcing and assuring compliance with statutes, laws, government facility rules and regulations and protecting the civil rights of all persons on property under the charge and control of the U.S. Government or in locations as may be necessary for the promotion of Homeland Security as directed by the DHS Secretary.
Duties performed:
- Monitoring and reviewing recommendations concerning corrective action(s) with respect to observations and deficiencies noted during Facility Security Assessments (FSA).
- Providing proactive measures to ensure a safe and secure workplace with procedures on how to, for example, handle suspicious mail, bomb and/or chemical or biological threats; how to evacuate; and who to contact for other matters.
- Providing technical advice and guidance to other LES, Commanders, and Inspectors in various meetings; oversees protection/security schedules and deadlines for regular and priority FSAs.
- Ensuring necessary reports on FSA completion and recommendations are compiled, validated and provided to FPS Headquarters, GSA and other security and law enforcement staff such as the US Marshals Service.
- Informing stakeholders of changes in agency programs and operations, conducts briefings on major program changes.
