Duties
The selectee will serve as an Law Enforcement Specialist (Instructor) in the Office of Training. James J. Rowley Training Center. Typical work assignments include:
- Providing instruction to support training of law enforcement officers, criminal investigators, and/or technical staff;
- Researching digital forensics and network intrusion forensics curriculums to ensure that training is inclusive of updated technologies, trends, methods, and/or policies.
- Serving as a Network Intrusion Forensic Analyst (NIFA) instructor to provide guidance in network and digital forensics.
- Developing course material to support instruction and enhance learning opportunities.

Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below.
You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $117,962.00) if you possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
- Providing relevant training to others on the subjects of digital or network intrusion forensic analysis;
- Utilizing computer hardware, software, and/or operating systems to inform others on methods to identify and seize digital evidence;
- Developing instructional content to facilitate the development of key competencies in trainees; and
- Apply training in research methodology and technology to aid in the accomplishment of training objectives.

You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

- Qualified: Applicants possessing experience that meets the minimum qualifications of the position and demonstrate basic proficiency in most of the critical competencies, including all SPFs and appropriate QRFs as determined by the job analysis.
The Category Rating Process does not add veteran's preference points but protects the rights of veterans by placing them ahead of non-preference eligibles within each category.
