Summary

IO seeks a law student intern to work 20 - 39 hours this summer. This position can be based at the Center's Washington, DC offices or virtual. The internship is for 10 weeks, commencing in late May or early June.

Duties

The law student intern will be responsible for assisting with international programs and developing content for Judiciaries Worldwide. Tasks will include:

  • Research and writing
  • Formatting citations
  • Assisting with visiting delegations
  • Working on PPT presentations
  • Supporting efforts to expand the scope and reach of Judiciaries Worldwide
The law student intern will be invited to observe FJC events to learn about the Center's domestic research and education portfolio.

Qualifications

IO is accepting applications from rising second or third year law students.

Candidates should possess:
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; Adobe Acrobat; Adobe Creative Cloud; Lexis or Westlaw
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Willingness to carry out administrative work, as needed
The following is helpful, but not required:
  • Proficiency in a foreign language
  • Facility with photoshop and graphics

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

  • Law Students (first year completed): $19.65 per hour
  • Law Students (second year completed): $22.11 per hour
Benefits are not applicable for this position.
