Duties
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Working Leader, you will perform a variety of team lead, administrative, and customer service duties. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Team Leadership & Work Coordination
- Work Distribution: Distribute and balance daily workloads among lodging employees to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Performance Monitoring: Observe work progress, productivity, and strict adherence to established quality and safety standards.
- Training & Mentorship: Instruct, onboard, and train new lodging employees on front desk policies, customer service standards, and software systems.
- Problem Resolution: Evaluate unresolved employee complaints or operational issues, resolving what is possible and escalating complex matters to the second-level supervisor.
- Feedback & Input: Provide valuable input to the supervisor regarding employee performance progress and potential disciplinary problems.
Front Desk & Guest Services
- Reservations & Check-Ins: Receive and confirm lodging reservations via letter, telephone, email, or personal contact. Register guests, assign rooms, issue keys, and escort guests to their rooms as needed.
- Eligibility Verification: Ensure that only authorized patrons use government-sponsored and NAF lodging quarters.
- Financial Transactions: Calculate and post charges to guest accounts, balance daily transactions against control records, accept payments, make change, and present clear checkout statements to departing guests.
- Financial Accountability: Prepare and safeguard cash receipts, and generate daily cashier, activity, and consolidated reports.
Operations & Administrative Support
- System Operations: Utilize property management systems to print backup reports, update housekeeping statuses, and process Night Audit procedures, including nightly credit card machine reconciliation.
- Property Maintenance Coordination: Record and report guest-identified maintenance issues to the appropriate department. Maintain the lost-and-found program.
- Clerical Support: Draft correspondence, reports, and administrative documents using MS Office software.
- Systems Data Entry: Perform Records Custodian functions, enter invoices into the NAF Resale Inventory System (NAFRIS), and assist with completing Consolidated Cost Center Reports, daily activity AF Form 1875s, and daily 1876s in the Services Agency Information System (SAIS).
- Payroll & Timekeeping: Assist with administrative payroll duties, acting as a timekeeper and processing inputs in SETS timesheets.
Beverage & Retail Services
- Sundry Sales: Maintain, stock, and sell sundry items to patrons.
- Bar Operations: Clean, set up, brew, and serve beverages at the coffee, beer, and wine bar during established hours, ensuring the area remains clean and compliant with safety guidelines.

Qualifying Experience:
To qualify for this position, your resume and application materials must clearly demonstrate that you meet the following requirements:
- Age Requirement: Must be at least 19 years of age (required for the sale and service of alcoholic beverages).
- Experience: Must possess general clerical or cashiering experience of any kind where you have demonstrated the ability to multitask and provide high-quality customer service.
- Mathematical Proficiency: Experience must demonstrate the ability to solve common arithmetic problems and accurately make change when receiving cash payments from customers.
- Legal Compliance: Must meet state and local legal age requirements for the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
- Background Check: Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
