Applicants must possess and demonstrate in their application package that they meet the following minimum qualifications:
GS-07: To be eligible at the GS 07 level, you must meet the definition of Specialized Experience, as defined below:
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience listed below:
- performing routine litigation support assignments such as assisting with organizing case information;
- preparing discovery including scanning, tagging documents, use of legal databases, and creating CDs and flash drives;
- assisting attorneys in preparing for court such as preparing exhibits for hearings or court appearances, compiling witness and exhibit lists and/or documents needed for court proceedings;
- assisting in the use of technology to organize digital evidence; and editing a variety of legal documents;
- establishing and maintaining a variety of files.
OR
Education: One full year of graduate education leading to a degree in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Law, Information Technology); OR possess a Master's or equivalent graduate degree in one of the above fields demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position, OR possess a Bachelor's Degree or expect to complete the requirements for a Bachelor's degree within the next 9 months AND possess at least one of the following criteria:1. Class standing in the upper third of the graduating class; 2. An overall GPA of 3.0 OR at least a 3.0 based on courses completed during the final two years of my curriculum; a GPA of at least 3.5 based on the average of required courses completed in my major field OR based on the average of required courses completed during the final two years of my curriculum; OR 3. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society. (Transcripts required)

Combining Education and Experience: Combination of successfully completed graduate education and specialized experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. To calculate, first identify the percentage of required graduate education you have earned. Then identify the percentage of required experience you possess. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Transcripts required)
GS-09: To be eligible at the GS-09 level, you must meet at least ONE of the following conditions:
Specialized Experience: One full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-07 level. Specialized experience is defined as the experience listed below:
- performing a variety of automated support necessary in preparing, organizing, indexing, developing, managing, and tracking exhibits, evidence and data relevant to cases presented for a jury, grand jury or other legal proceeding;
- assisting attorneys with trial preparation, including making recommendations on how to proceed with trial presentations;
- utilizing office automation tools in order to create physical and digital trial presentations;
- working with investigators, agents, and legal support staff; handling a wide variety of evidence and discovery; and providing technical assistance to litigation teams;
- utilizing various software applications to provide automated litigation assistance to attorneys in trial preparation and courtroom presentations.
OR
Education: A Master's, LL.B., J.D., Ph.D., or equivalent graduate degree in a related field (e.g., Criminal Justice, Law, Information Technology); or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree that is related to the position and demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position. Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)- The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
