Duties
- Provides technician support by performing a wide variety of direct services to the public: registers patrons, shelves library materials, prepares displays, answers basic reference questions, and assists customers in locating materials.
- Assists in maintaining accountability records and in performing shelf inventories.
- Performs simple maintenance on the library's automated systems.
- Incumbent may perform physical exertion such as long periods of standing, bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, pushing of loaded trucks; and recurring lifting of heavy items such as boxes of books or journals.

- A one year probationary period may be required.
- Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.

- Incumbent may also be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card for physical access to federally controlled facilities.
Qualifications
One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade or two years of education above high school or a combination of specialized experience and education that equates to 100% of the qualification requirements.
