Join Our Team as a Lifeguard and Aquatic Instructor
Support the Military's Quality of Life programs by joining the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) department of the Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). We are looking for dedicated Lifeguards and Aquatic Instructors to join our team at NBK - Bremerton and Bangor. Role and Responsibilities
- Perform rescue work, including CPR and emergency first aid, and call for medical assistance when necessary.
- Supervise swimmers to ensure safety and manage crowd control.
- Enforce safety and pool regulations meticulously.
- Report safety hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain the cleanliness of pool areas and test chemical levels for water safety.
- Provide swimming lessons and CPR courses to youth and adults.
- Assist with pool parties, special events, and work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years old and have a valid driver's license or obtain one.
- Possess or obtain a lifeguarding certification from a recognized agency within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to perform lifeguarding duties, communicate effectively, and possess water safety knowledge.
- Availability to work on weekends, holidays, and special events as needed.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Must pass initial and annual swim tests demonstrating proficiency.
- Possess knowledge of cash handling procedures.
- Capable of lifting 50lbs independently and more with assistance.
