Job Description (Please follow all instructions carefully)

Summary

This position is located in the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Assistant Secretary-Indian Affairs, Office of Indian Economic Development, Division of Capital Investment.

This position is being advertised concurrently with ST-24-12540345-CAWU-DM which is open to status candidates and applies Merit Promotion procedures. Duties

  • Consults, assists, and secures project financing by analyzing, preparing, and presenting analysis of loan applications.
  • Prepares, reviews, and provides current, accurate and timely data to financial institutions, management, lenders, and associates.
  • Analyzes and prepares financial reports on the merits of credit applications, examining eligibilities and all credit factors.
  • Recommends approval or denial of loan applications received from lenders and borrowers.
  • Analyzes, prepares, and presents standardized credit analysis and review the credit analysis of other staff in the context of a credit review committee.
  • Consults and provides the Chief with current, accurate, detailed, and substantive weekly activity reports.
  • Participates in discussions concerning policies developed or administered that impact Indian economic development.
  • Participates in discussions concerning policies developed or administered within the Division that impact Indian economic development.
  • Complies with all applicable reporting requirements, audit inquiries, and legal requirements including without limitation to the Debt Collection Improvement Act.
  • Reviews program activities for purposes of the credit subsidy model prepared by the Office of Management and Budget and prepares monthly loan reports that emanate from the zones.

Qualifications

GS-12: To qualify at the GS-12 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level performing ALL of the following: 1) experience in loan processing; 2) experience in credit analysis; 3) loan underwriting; and 4) customer service; and 5) time management skills.

GS-13: To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level performing ALL of the following: I have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level performing all of the following: 1) Making loan guarantees and make loan insurance applications; 2) Servicing loans by handling financial payments and collections; 3) Providing loan processing and underwriting services to commercial lenders; 4) Reviewing prepared audited financial statements; and 5) Identifying, organizing, and uploading loan documents relevant to the borrower application.

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
