There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision including installing, repairing, disassembling, troubleshooting, and inspecting lock and dam equipment and machinery. Making repairs to electrical and mechanical lock and dam equipment through the use of a variety of diagnostic tools, measuring devices, schematics, engineering drawings, manuals, electrical cables, and power tools. Repairing lock valves and gates; installing tainter gate side seals and wall lining plates, valve well tracks, guides and seals, and welded lock wall and gate hand railings. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
