The United States Space Force (USSF) at MacDill AFB, Tampa, FL is searching for a Logistics Division Chief for USSF CENTCOM (NH-0346-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).
Description:
Are you a logistics expert looking to expand your horizon and lead a command-wide support program? If so, come lead the SPACECENT S4 as the command postures itself to fulfill designated roles and responsibilities. As the SPACECENT S4 Division Chief, you will lead personnel across the globe to develop and implement logistical plans, force protection measures, facility management, and mission partner agreements to ensure SPACECENT forces are postured to support U.S. Central Command operations. This job will place you in a position of great influence during the command's establishing of new programs and processes. Ideal Candidate:
The desired candidate must possess DAF logistical management expertise and specific system background. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in DAF military logistics planning, coordination, and management systems. Ideal candidates should have training or experience with JOPES, DCAPES, SMS, ITARS, and other similar logistics management systems. Candidates should be capable of rapidly developing expertise in unfamiliar systems and processes due to the wide scope of responsibilities in this position.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Expertise in Joint Logistics Planning: Expert knowledge of joint and service logistics doctrine, theories, and principles, with the demonstrated skill to apply this knowledge to the Joint Operation Planning Process (JOPP). This includes the ability to develop and integrate detailed sustainment concepts into strategic and operational-level plans (OPLANs/CONPLANs).
2. Executive Leadership and Personnel Management: Skill in leading, managing, and mentoring a diverse organization of military and civilian personnel. This includes the ability to set strategic direction, manage organizational resources, and develop a workforce to effectively meet the command's long-term logistics and sustainment requirements.
3. Skill in Logistics Resource Management: Comprehensive skill in managing the fiscal, materiel, and contracting aspects of a logistics enterprise. This includes deep knowledge of the DoD's PPBE process, supply chain management, property accountability regulations, and the principles of operational contract support.
4. Ability to Synchronize Multi-Domain Logistics: Ability to direct and synchronize complex, interrelated logistics functions (e.g., distribution, maintenance, engineering, and supply) across a joint, multi-domain environment. This includes the ability to de-conflict priorities and integrate capabilities to ensure a unified and resilient sustainment posture.
5. Skill in Data-Driven Sustainment Analysis: Skill in analyzing logistics data and readiness metrics to assess operational risk, determine sustainment feasibility, and develop data-driven Courses of Action (COAs). Includes the ability to clearly and concisely present complex logistics analysis and recommendations to senior leaders and commanders to inform their decision-making.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- May be required travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework"
- Subject to TDY 30 days per year.
- Incumbent must be able to commute between KSC and SLD 45 facilities and bases.
- Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
