Summary

  • This position is with the 401st Army Field Support Brigade located in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
  • This position will be filled as Term NTE 13 months with the possibility of extensions.
  • This position is unaccompanied in support of Operation Spartan Shield
  • This is an Emergency Essential position.

Duties

  • Provide support in tasking equipment required to support operational missions including overseeing maintenance and upgrading of equipment.
  • Review mission performance and compliance with established regulations/policies in assigned areas of responsibility in the execution of supply/maintenance operations.
  • Serve as technical advisor on mission performance or operations.
  • Make recommendations for requirements for money, manpower, materiel, facilities, equipment, and services to support the assigned programs and projects.
  • Participate in planning, managing, integrating, and executing force projection and logistic sustainment operations associated with the equipment.

  • In accordance with AR 690-11, this position has been designated as "Emergency-Essential". Emergency-Essential designation takes precedence over any transportation agreement or military recall status.
  • NOTE: You must not be in a ready reserve, or standby reserve status. Military retirees must be exempt from active-duty recall.
  • Emergency Essential designated requiring you to perform the duties and requirements of position in the event of crisis until relieved by proper authority along with being immunized with the complete Anthrax vaccination series and annual boosters.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a CENTCOM MOD-17 compliant deployment physical exam which includes medical, dental, and behavioral health fitness standards.
  • You may be required to process through the CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) in Camp Atterbury, IN prior to deployment. The CRC is the final authority for declaring an individual deployable. If you are found non-deployable this offer may be withdrawn.
  • Position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 20% of the time.
  • Immunization screening is required. Shot records are required to be carried at all times while deployed.
  • This position has been designated as non-critical sensitive as defined in DoD 5200.R, and requires you to possess, or obtain and maintain for the duration of employment, a Secret security clearance.
  • This position requires you to possess/obtain and maintain a valid U.S. Passport and driver's license.
  • This position may require you to work overtime, up to 12-hour workdays.
  • Statutory return rights may or may not be authorized or Administrative return rights may be granted.

Qualifications

Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 13 months. Term appointments may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointments may be extended beyond eight (8) years.

Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a Term appointment will be appointed/converted into a Term appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Managing the maintenance or the upgrading of equipment; 2) Overseeing technical aspects of logistics operations; and 3) Planning logistic program requirements. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Additional information

  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area.
  • Employees who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
