Duties

This position is part of the Department of Defense, Missile Defense Agency (MDA). The incumbent will be responsible for Direct, develop and perform multi-functional logistics management operations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) goals and mission.

As a Logistics Management Specialist at the NH-0346-4 broadband level some of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Works with MDA contracting officials and contractor company officials to develop and administer contracting actions in support of Agency logistics operations.
  • Provides support with the direction, development, and performance of multi-functional logistics management operations that include planning, coordinating and evaluating the logistics actions required to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)goals and mission.
  • Identifies the specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services required to support the Program Manager's (PM) cost, schedule and performance objectives.
  • Correlates PM objectives with Program plans to assure that the required logistics support is provided at the right time and place.
  • Coordinates and evaluates logistics support in consideration of the twelve Integrated Product Support (IPS) Elements (maintenance planning; manpower and personnel; supply support; support equipment; technical data; training and training support; computer resources support; facilities and infrastructure: packaging, handling, storage, and transportation; design influence/interface; sustaining engineering and product support management) in accordance with Performance Based Logistics (PBL) to identify and execute specific requirements, identify and mitigate risk, and to develop and adjust plans and schedules for the actions required to meet each requirement on time; Applies a working knowledge of acquisition, planning, funding, and management information systems.
  • Researches and develops Department of Defense (DoD) and MDA logistics directives and Instructions.
  • Coordinates with higher level specialists to jointly research and develop readiness and logistics plans, strategies, and procedures focusing on delivering a MDS capability that is effective, efficient, and supportable to meet operational requirements.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the NH-04 broadband level if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-03 broadband grade level in the Federal service: Applicants are required to meet 2 of 3 statements in order to be qualified.
  • Experience coordinating logistics support for test, operational deployments and maintenance activities. -Experience sustaining a fleet of ground support equipment.
  • Experience developing and administering contract requirements for logistics support services.
  • Experience working across multiple staffs to develop and implement Agency policies.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
