The United States Space Force (USSF) at Los Angles AFB, El Segundo, CA is searching for a Logistics Management Specialist to support PCL (NH-0346-03, GS-12/13 Equivalent).
Description:
If selected, you will serve as an SSC Logistics Management Specialist responsible for providing the product support required to field and maintain the readiness and operational capability of Military Satellite Communications and Positioning, Navigation and Timing (MCPNT) space programs/systems throughout their lifecycle. Considered a Subject Matter Expert (SME) by others in the organization, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, implementing, incentivizing, and measuring quantifiable best value outcome- based product support that optimizes life-cycle cost, readiness, and operational capability of MCPNT systems. You will provide product support subject matter expertise to the relevant Program Manager and Product Support Manager (PSM) and collaborate with chief engineers and systems engineers in developing the life-cycle sustainment plan and product support strategy required under 10 USC 4324, analyze the operating and support costs to ensure cost-effective operation, management, and availability of the covered system, adopt predictive analytics and simulation and modeling tools to improve materiel availability and reliability, increase operational availability rates, and reduce operation and sustainment costs and conduct product support business case analyses to provide a structured, iterative methodology to compare and assess the full impact of product support alternatives and provide data-informed recommendations that balance requirements with affordability. You will work independently in coordinating product support arrangements between product support integrators and product support providers across materiel commands, depots, sustainment working capital funds and commercial entities to execute the product support strategy and maintain updated parts cataloging and provisioning; in seeking to resolve issues relating to diminishing manufacturing supply, material shortages, critical readiness items of supply; in managing the end-to-end coordination process related to qualification, certification, and testing of alternative sources of supply for critical readiness items of supply; in identifying any factors contributing to the failure of a major weapon system to meet such requirements and objectives; and in developing and implementing a corrective action plan to address such factors in an expeditious manner;. Initiative and strong communication skills are essential, both oral and written, with a focus on clear, concise and technically accurate dialogue that synchronizes efforts across multiple government and contractor organizations The duties of this position require the ability to analyze, negotiate, and resolve complex issues while maintaining good working relationships. You will train, develop, mentor, and motivate junior civilian and military personnel with a focus on outpacing the threat, accelerating warfighter capabilities, streamlining and synchronizing functional support processes, and expanding excellence in our people and partnerships.
Ideal Candidate:
Product support is critical to achieving and sustaining warfighter readiness and lethality and must begin at program inception to ensure effective and affordable readiness outcomes and enable unity of effort across all warfighter domains. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge, skills, and abilities in interpreting and applying Department of Defense (DoD)/Department of War (DoW) Product Support Management principles, strategies, concepts, and statutory and regulatory guidance necessary to organize and coordinate activities, products, processes, and data required to achieve defined program supportability cost, schedule, and performance objectives. Duties of position include planning, cost estimating and budgeting, developing, implementing, and managing an effective Product Support Strategy that addresses all 12 Integrated Product Support (IPS) elements to accomplish materiel and system readiness for systems covered by Section 4324 of Title 10, U.S.C., and providing assistance and advice to all levels of the organization to resolve product support/logistics issues in any/all aspects of product support management
