Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) Space Sensing Acquisition Logistics (SNL) at Los Angeles Air Force Base, California is searching for a Logistics Management Specialist (NH-0346-03, GS 12/13 equivalent).

Description:
System Delta (SYD) 84 is responsible for Space-Based Missile Warning and Tracking, which responds to emerging threats such as hypersonic weapons that place the Nation's warfighters, allies and capabilities at risk. SYDs combine SSC program offices responsible for designing, delivering and developing mission systems, following a structured approach to acquisitions. SYDs aim to analyze mission needs regularly and strengthen mission planning by focusing on specific missions, improving teamwork and clearly defining responsibilities.

This is an amazing opportunity to serve as an Acquisition Logistic Subject matter expert as we continue to build and evolve the Space-Based Missile Warning and Tracking System Delta 84 Logistics Staff.

Ideal candidates will possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal Service, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of logistics management principles, policies, laws, and functions, particularly within the context of contracting, production, and acquisition logistics support, and life cycle integrated logistics. This includes the ability to plan, organize, and oversee product support planning and management for the Space-Based Missile Warning and Tracking System Delta 84, lead Life Cycle Logistics Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), and ensure accurate collection and reporting of Title 10, Sections 2464 and 2466 data, along with a commitment to maintaining Top Secret/SCI Clearance access and completion of DAWIA Cat II or Foundational Life Cycle Logistics certification.

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of principles, concepts, procedures, standards, and techniques of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) sufficient to plan and execute a complex and difficult product support program; and to apply new developments to issues for which previous techniques are frequently inadequate.
2. Knowledge of the missions, roles, function, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition and sustainment process and integrated life cycle management.
3. Ability to plan, analyze, and coordinate a system or portion of a major system's acquisition and transfer into operational use, sustainment and disposal; to include the identification and correlation of specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support the program; and to develop and analyze data to determine logistic objectives and goals, identify support requirements (including funding, contract development, and other technical support requirements), and establish relationships between the participants involved in deploying the plan.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases, gather and analyze a variety of program information, make sound judgments concerning program progress, and effectively communicate recommendations orally and in writing to higher organizational management and contractors.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
  • May be required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
  • The employee must meet the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) requirements applicable to the duties of the position.
  • Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.” Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training. 7.
  • This is an Acquisition Professional Development Program (APDP) position.
  • Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework".
  • Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 25 days per year.
  • May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of TDY assignments.
  • May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
  • PCS is not authorized. Incentives are authorized.
