The United States Space Force (USSF) Space Operations Command (SpOC) Mission Delta 2 (MD2) at Peterson SFB, Colorado is searching for a Logistics Management Specialist (NH-0346-03, GS 12/13 equivalent).
Description:
The successful candidate will directly execute logistics support for the USSF Space Surveillance Telescope program, advise, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of program managers, engineers, contracting and financial management personnel, who are performing sustainment actions for the assigned weapon system. The candidate will possess a working knowledge of the Depot Source of Repair (DSOR), Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Materiel Shortages (DMSMS), Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR), and have experience in the Logistics Requirements Determination Process (LRDP)/Weapon Support Support (WSS) Program Objective Memorandum (POM) build/execution process. The candidate will provide product support planning, metrics management & reporting, cost estimates, and consultation to the Branch and Squadron Commander.
The ideal candidate for this position will have earned a technical or business bachelor's degree and possess a Foundational Certification in Life Cycle Logistics. In addition, it is desirable that the candidate possess a Foundational Certification in one other functional area such as Program Management, Engineering, Financial Management, or similar sustainment related certification. It is highly desirable that the candidate possess a strong Space background, have 10+ years delivering Materiel Capabilities/Sustainment to DoD Warfighters; and possess a military/civil service background in operations, support or maintenance. The candidate will be a DoD and USAF/USSF policy expert, a skilled technical and managerial analyst, an innovative action officer, and a strong leader.
The candidate should possess significant skills and experience in Product Support Management, Supply Support, Sustaining Engineering, Maintenance Planning and Management, Design Interface, Support Equipment, Manpower & Personnel IT Systems Continuous Support, Facilities & Infrastructure, Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation, Technical Data, Training & Training Support. The candidate should possess direct experience with USAF/USSF logistics product support arrangements, Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS), Contractor Logistics Support (CLS), DoD financial management, engineering management, and life cycle logistics. The candidate must be a self-starter, have strong collaboration skills, be highly motivated, resilient, and an expert problem solver.
Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of a principles, concepts, procedures, standards, and techniques of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) sufficient to plan and execute a complex and difficult product support program; and to apply new developments to issues for which previous techniques are frequently inadequate.
2. Knowledge of the missions, roles, function, organizational structures, and operation of the Department of Defense, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/or influence the systems acquisition and sustainment process and integrated life cycle management.
3. Ability to plan, analyze, and coordinate a system or portion of a major system's acquisition and transfer into operational use, sustainment and disposal; to include the identification and correlation of specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, and services needed to support the program; and to develop and analyze data to determine logistic objectives and goals, identify support requirements(including funding, contract development, and other technical support requirements), and establish relationships between the participants involved in deploying the plan.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, with technical accuracy and to use computers and a variety of software programs and databases.
