Summary

About the Position: Serves as Logistics Management Specialist for V Corps and subordinate commands on matters relating to all Class V issues located in Poznan, Poland. Conducts Class V site assessments and reviews. Formulates and implements systemic improvements in business practices. Analyzes workload data accumulated and collected from elements of the organization, operational plans and technical guidance provided by systems or V Corps subordinate units.

  • Applies knowledge of ammunition logistics functions to recommend appropriate workforce levels, funding allocation and contractual requirements in statement of work.
  • Provides oversight of Class V stockpile reliability and explosive safety programs.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes: reviewing and analyzing property and/or equipment reports such as inventory losses and gains; advising on logistical operations matters to ensure efficient logistical ammunition program operation, and evaluating reports, regulations/directives and other guidance related to implementing ammunition distribution, visibility, consumption and movement.

OR

I have successfully completed a Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position. OR

I have some of the specialized experience, but less than one year; and I have at least two years of graduate education described above, but less than the required three years. I have computed the percentage of the requirements that I meet, and the total is at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).

FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university. Additional information

  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • U.S. citizens overseas under ordinarily resident status are not eligible for appointment under the Status of Forces Agreement.
  • Locality pay does not apply in the overseas area.
  • This position is 24 month tour in Poznan, Poland - no dependents under the age of 18 are allowed. NO UNDERAGE DEPENDENTS ARE AUTHORIZED.
  • Employees (and family members) who require medical or dental care in the overseas location will be responsible for obtaining and paying for such care. Access for civilian employees and their families to military medical and dental treatment facilities is on a space-available and reimbursable basis only.
  • Pay retention may be offered to selected applicants for positions at overseas locations. Pay retention will not be offered as an incentive for employees moving between overseas positions.
  • Selectees may receive certain foreign area benefits such as: Living Quarters Allowance (LQA) or government quarters, home leave, etc. Selectees will have their eligibility for foreign area benefits determined at the time of hire in accordance with Department of State Standardized Regulation (DSSR) and DoDI 1400.25 volume 1250.

  • Access to medical and dental care in Poland is primarily through the use of local Polish medical and dental facilities on a fee basis with the possibility of reimbursement based on an individual's health insurance plan. Medical care on the military installation is extremely limited.
  • At an exchange rate of approximately 4:1, Polish Zloty (PLN) to US Dollar (USD), the cost of living in Poland is very reasonable.
