This position is being filled under Direct Hire Authority (DHA) in accordance with Section 1109 of FY 2020 NDAA; P.L. 116-92 and Section 9905 of Title 5, U.S.C.

As a MAINTENANCE MECHANIC LEADER, WL-4749-10, typical work assignments under normal supervision may include the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, repair and install a wide range of utility systems and equipment to include air-conditioning and refrigeration systems, water supply systems, sewage disposal systems, gas lines and other similar facility support systems.
- Determines cause of defects and malfunctions on assigned utility systems and equipment such as Variable Frequency Drives, Fan Powered Induction Units, Air Handler Units, Heat Exchangers, backflow prevention devices, condenser units, sprinkler systems, sewage ejector pits and 3 phase motors.
- Interpret and apply blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, NFPA codes for repairs and installations of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Replaces piping, valves, sump pumps and bathroom fixtures.
