Summary

You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor I in the Facilities Maintenance Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP BUTLER.

Duties

  • You will serve as shift foreman, responsible for supervision of several MLC journeymen
  • You will be responsible for continuous inspection of work in progress and final inspection upon completion.
  • You will respond to emergency calls from Hospital, Bachelors Enlisted Quarters (BEQ's), Bachelors Officer's Quarters (BOQ's) and other related facilities attached to the Naval Hospital.
  • You will create/modify/review Defense Medical Logistics Standard Support (DLMSS) service tickets and create/modify/review MAXIMO work orders, screen material requests, and update information as needed.

  • This position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station, the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas country's laws/regulations. Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Status of Forces Agreement (SOFA), Privately Owned Vehicle (POV), and Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) driver’s licenses.
  • The incumbent may be recalled to the workplace, work overtime, and on weekends/holidays as required.
  • The incumbent is required to attend and pass all assigned training determined necessary for this position.
  • Occasional travel or Temporary Additional Duty (TAD) up to 10% may be required annually.
  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • The incumbent may be required to participate in the Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC) program as a cardholder, approving official, or alternate approving official.
  • This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This position is required to have a pre-employment physical examination and an annual health assessment thereafter as part of the DoD Civilian Expeditionary Workforce.
  • The incumbent shall, at minimum, be fully qualified and/or certified in the following within six (6) months after assuming the duties of this position: a. Confined Space Supervisor b. Fall Protection Competent Person Training
