About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Fighter Country Inn.
Guaranteed 35 hours per week. Comes with benefits: Health/life insurance, 401K, NAF Retirement and paid leave.
Work requires considerable standing, kneeling, stooping, bending and climbing. Work may be done on ladders or rooftops. Strenuous physical exertion when handling heavy and bulky materials, and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds and heavier with assistance.

Duties
Inspects building and structures to determine nature and extent of repairs required. Performs minor repairs on existing structures involving standard measurements, specifications, instructions and basic shop mathematics. Installs exterior and interior trim using pre-planned materials, such as baseboard and molding. Replaces broken, discolored, or missing acoustical ceiling tile, window screens and other damaged components. Repairs sticking doors and windows and replaces weather stripping, adjusts loose hinges, repairs faulty door locks.
Inspects for plumbing repairs or responds to work orders and locates and makes repairs to plumbing. Removes, cleans, replaces, packages and scales defective parts of utility, supply and disposal systems such as dirty traps, sections of broken tile or pipe, and leaky drains using existing routes, openings, hangers and levels. Caulks and seals elbows, union joints, and tile or pipes, faucets and shower drains. Checks operation and completers needed repairs to small parts and sections of exiting systems, such as disposal units and faucets.
Inspects equipment, furnishings, and buildings for deterioration of painted surfaces and rusty metal surfaces. Mixes and blends paints and other coating material to obtain desired consistency and color following specific written directives. Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces such as furniture, doors, walls, trims, strips, porches and similar other surfaces. Prepares wood and metal surfaces to be painted and mixes, thins and applies coating materials. Prepares surfaces by scraping wire brushing, masking, spackling and sanding surfaces. Applies coating materials such as primers, paints, varnishes and shellacs, using standard application techniques and ensures that the coating finish meets surface protection requirement.
Makes minor electrical repairs by replacing bulbs and fluorescent fixtures, and minor television, DVD, radio repairs and replacing remotes, etc.
Inspects interior plumbing fixtures, fittings and pipes for defective parts or malfunction. Repairs and replaces defective faucets, valves, shower heads, lavatories, laundry traps and drinking fountains. Clears stopped up drain lines.
Performs inspection and minor maintenance of vehicles to include battery checks, and condition of tires, proper oil level in crankcase and water level in radiator. Washes and waxes vehicles. Performs other required repairs with capabilities.
Receives, stores, and moves equipment, furniture and supply items between quarters, supply rooms and warehouses.
Checks condition of grounds to include landscaping, trimming of trees, shrubbery, mowing and watering of grass areas.
Uses and maintains tools and equipment. Maintains bench stock levels of parts, materials, tools, and equipment at prescribed levels. Utilizes hand and power tools, power saws, routers, standard hand tools, straight edge, chalk line, tapes, rulers, caulking guns, pipe wrenches, rollers, putty knife and paint brushes.
Responsible for programming and maintaining electronic locks; to include troubleshooting, changing out batteries, programming new keys, performing key audits and calling in work orders for work still under warranty.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Qualifying Experience:
Must have a working knowledge of woodworking techniques and basic shop mathematics to plan, layout, measure, cut, construct and install materials according to dimensional requirements and specifications where fit and accuracy are within specified tolerances. Must have knowledge of standard plumbing methods and techniques including flow and drainage. Must have the ability to join and seal elbows, faucets, shower drains, plastic, metal and title pipes and similar items. Must be able to perform small appliance repairs, etc. Must have the ability to read and follow specific directions that explain how to apply and use prepared solvents and how to thin and stir coating materials. Must know how to operate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment such as power drills, saw brace and bits, hammers, chisels, wrenches and screw drivers. Must understand and apply safety regulations and procedures.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
