Summary

About the Position: Serve as a project scheduler and is responsible for coordinating with the District Project Managers and Study Managers.

Duties

  • Prepare a management plan regarding the project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
  • Evaluate various schedules and project data within each of the programs to identify consistent and efficient management processes.
  • Schedule and helps to conduct (or coordinate) training classes and sessions within the District on the operation of the P2 system.
  • Documents project plans into HQUSACE project management system P2.
  • Apply an understanding of the many aspects of District operations and functions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes meeting two of the following; 1) Coordinating with internal stakeholders regarding study, design, and construction schedules; 2) Utilize automated systems to enter, modify, and review project schedules ; AND/OR 3) understand and apply the sequence of planning, design, construction, and close out of projects and their related milestones. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.

OR

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
