A. I have the ability to independently perform the most difficult and complex tasks of a materials handler to include performing all of the following duties: receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, inventorying, distributing and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage and compliance with technical requirements and documenting discrepancies; reading and preparing shipping documents; utilizing automated systems such as Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to input, update and extract data; operating automated equipment such as scanners, computer terminals, and barcode wands to process incoming stock; perform clearly defined segments of re-warehousing/consolidation warehouse assignments and make recommendations concerning the consolidation or relocation of stored items to maximize warehouse space; determining proper handling and storage procedures; operating material handling equipment and motor vehicles to relocate, arrange, stack and palletize items. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of Independence.
B. I have the ability to perform a full range of tasks of a material handler to include experience performing a majority of the following duties with minimal supervision: receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, inventorying, distributing, and documenting the movement and storage of supplies, equipment and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; performing inspections of incoming shipments to check for damage and compliance with technical requirements and documenting discrepancies; reading and preparing shipping documents; utilizing automated systems such as Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to input, update and extract data; operating automated equipment such as scanners, computer terminals, and barcode wands to process incoming stock; perform clearly defined segments of re-warehousing/consolidation warehouse assignments and make recommendations concerning the consolidation or relocation of stored items to maximize warehouse space; determining proper handling and storage procedures; operating material handling equipment and motor vehicles to relocate, arrange, stack and palletize items. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
C. I have the ability to perform the common task of a material handler to include experience working under close supervision to perform the following duties: receiving, issuing, handling, preparing for shipment, segregating, storing, inventorying, distributing, and document the movement and storage of supplies, equipment and materials, in accordance with prescribed regulations; checking incoming shipments for damage and documenting discrepancies; reading and preparing shipping documents; utilizing automated systems such as Navy Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) to input, update and extract data; operating automated equipment such as scanners, computer terminals, and barcode wands to process incoming stock; determining proper handling and storage procedures; operate forklifts and material handling equipment to relocate, arrange, stack and palletize items. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
